Where Are You?
The pain of watching someone you love lose themselves in their own pain.
You see two lovers, one staring dead into the eyes of the viewer, and one desperately grasping her face.
The girl in the center is surrounded by a throng of faces, some devoid of emotion and others in deep anguish, visually representing her inner villagers and how they each respond to crippling, emotional pain. Her inability to be present or show up in relationships when swept up in the whirlwinds and tragedies of life.
Holding her face is another girl, painfully watching as her beloved struggles internally, detaching from herself and her love. The girl is trying to pull her lover back down to earth, pull her back into love, but facing the painful reality that she can’t.
This piece depicts the active fear of knowing you’re losing what you love the most, your beloved & yourself.
